Danny was born March 24, 1928, in Hensdale, Illinois to Christine Greensfelder.  He was raised in Grandin, Missouri, with his mother and grandfather.  He graduated from basic training in the United States Army in 1947 from Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.  He served his country in Vietnam and a short time in Germany.  He retired from the army in 1966, but continued his service by working for the military supply for twenty years.

Danny married Glenola Roam in  1954, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  They were later divorced.  He then married Elenore Walls in 1966 in Richmond, Indiana.  They had one child, Loreneree Greensfelder, before they divorced.  Danny met Ruth Blair in 1975 and they were married on February 21, 1976, in Loogootee, Indiana.  She survives at their home.

In 1976 Danny and Ruth moved to Manhattan  for his work at Fort Riley.  They were there for seventeen years.  They then moved to Wamego.

Daniel is also survived by his ex-wife, Elenore, of Richmond, Indiana; daughter, Lori Medicinehorse, of Topeka; son, Richard Greensfelder, of Salina; his granddaughters, Chelsea, Shanna, Kalee, and Tiffany; and step-daughter, Darlene McClurg of Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine; grandfather, George; grandmother, Margaret; and his ex-wife, Glenola.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Trinity Baptist Church in Wamego.  Reverend Dr. Tony Mattia will be officiating.  Burial and military honors will follow at the Fort Riley Veteran’s Cemetery.  The family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.  They suggest, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Daniel Greensfelder Memorial Fund to be used for his granddaughter, Tiffany’s, education.  Those may be sent in care of Campanella-Evans Mortuary.  Online condolences may be made at www.campanellafuneral.com.
