Frances Ann Sutton, 63, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Via Christi Village. She was a long-time resident of the area.
Frances was born May 26, 1954, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of John and Margaret Paoni Sutton. She attended local schools and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1972. Frances lived her adult life mostly in Manhattan, Yakima, Washington and Westmoreland.
Frances lived and worked as a janitor at Big Lakes Developmental Center in Manhattan. She enjoyed doing word searches, playing Bingo, watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, and eating out.
Frances is survived by her sister, Natha Manges (Floyd), Westmoreland; her brother, John Sutton, Morganville; brother-in-law, Larry Wilson, Kansas City; nieces and nephews, Randy Sutton Rocky Sutton, Jessie Webb, Haylee Sutton, Brenda Panovic, Peggy Manges, Tina Wilson, Amanda Oliver, Tim Manges; and sixteen grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Wilson and brother, Stanley Sutton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017, at St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church in Blaine, Kansas. Father Daniel Schmitz will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A rosary prayer service will be held prior to Mass at 10:00 a.m. Frances will lie-in-state on Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the service. They suggest memorial contributions to St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church Renovation, and those may be sent in care of the mortuary.
