Ann B. Honig, 82, of Onaga, Kansas, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Onaga Community Hospital. She lived most of her life in the Onaga community.
Ann was born August 18, 1929, in Hopkins, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and Beulah Bagby Applegate. She attended local schools and graduated from Fairview High School in Fairview, Kanas.
Ann was a homemaker. She lived in the Onaga area from 1951 to 1974, then moved to Kansas City, Missouri. She returned to Onaga in 1992. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Duluth. She, also, was a Sunday School teacher for a number of years. Ann was a member of the Onaga Senior Citizens.
She married Norman Honig on February 14, 1951. They were later divorced.
Ann is survived by her sons, Kenneth Honig and his wife, Suzy, Onaga, and Eugene Honig, also of Onaga, her sister, Eleanor Dietermann, Daytona Beach, Florida; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Duluth, Kansas. Reverend Rick Twenhafel will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday at the church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. St. Pauls Lutheran Building Fund is the suggested memorial contribution, and those may be sent in care of Kufahl Funeral Home in Wheaton.
