Gerhardt Paul Heine, 69, of El Dorado, Kansas, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in El Dorado.
He was born May 28, 1940, in Ft. Lupton, Colorado, the son of Paul and Hulda Bentrup Heine. He grew up in Kit Carson, Colorado and Garden City, Kansas. He attended local schools. In 1957 Gerhardt enlisted in the United States Navy, he was later medically discharged. He worked as a diesel mechanic all across Kansas, mostly in the Garden City area.
He is survived by a son, Bobby G. Heine, Garden City; seven sisters, Eileen Husting, Claremore, Oklahoma, Roberta Kresley, Kingman, Arizona, Cristel Moecker and her husband, Neil, West Allis, Wisconsin, Faith Dyer and her husband, Steve, Centerview, Missouri, Anita DeWitt and her husband, David, Wamego, Jaylene Nichols and her husband, Melvin, Fowler, Indiana, and Lori Saliga and her husband, Francis, Berwyn, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Constance Voletz and Margaret Towe.
A graveside inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Sylvan Grove, Kansas. Pastor Phil Augustine will be officiating.
