Debra Lynn Metschke, 47, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at her home.  She had been a resident of Colorado Springs for ten years.

Debbie was born June 3, 1963, in Libertyville, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Judith Troxel Metschke.  She was raised in Illinois and graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in 1981.

Debbie worked many years in retail sales.  She loved to sew and was a gourmet cook.

She is survived by her mother, Judy Lauff and her companion, Clarence Thompson, Canadian, Oklahoma; her father, Richard Metschke and his companion, Margaret Shields, Round Lake Beach, Illinois; paternal grandfather, Walter Metschke, Wonder Lake, Illinois; half-sister, Renee Metschke, Antioch, Illinois and half-brother, Richard E. Metschke, Gurnee, Illinois.

A graveside inurnment will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the McFarland City Cemetery in McFarland, Kansas.  Pastor Susan Evans will be officiating.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army and those may be sent in care of Campanella-Gentry Funeral Home in Alma.  Online condolences may be made at www.campanellafuneral.com.
